Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park to McCarthy’s Rest

Description

KTP to McCarthys’s Rust

This approximately 340-kilometre route, of which 260 kilometers are gravel road, takes you through the heart of the Kalahari. It follows, or runs parallel to, the dry Molopo and Kuruman Rivers.

If you’re in a hurry, the journey can be completed in 4–5 hours, depending on road conditions and the time of year. However, we encourage you to take your time and immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of this timeless Kalahari landscape. Follow in the footsteps of the historic pioneers who traversed this remote hinterland, exploring the unknown.

Stop often, take in the scenery, and experience the true spirit and natural beauty of the Kalahari.
