Description
This Route, along the N4 takes you through some of the most beautiful sceneries, the northern part of South Africa offers. Quint little historical towns and villages with a rich traditional and historical history. As a lot of the lifeline of this part of South Africa is and was built on the explorations of raw materials by way of mining, it has a lot of affluence but also a sad a history of fortune seekers that flooded this part of the country looking for quick wealth. It represented a broad cultural and foreign diversity leaving a lot of mixed traditions and cultures. A lot of these villages has lost their glitter and glam as natural resources became less or was simply not financially viable. This area also has a very strong agricultural section with cattle farming, game farming, citrus, corn and wheat farming forming the backbone of this region. It also leads to South Africa’s biggest and world renowned National Park, the Kruger National Park, a gem in in the South African tourism industry.
