Tuishuis was built in 1870, and even though it could have been an outbuilding of the adjoining house, it has been fully restored to a quaint three-bedroom dwelling in its own right. Adorned with rustication round the sash windows, doors and corners – it demonstrates a typical style popular in early Calvinia when the Cape Dutch thatch was replaced by corrugated iron.
On offer is three double bedrooms – all fully furnished with authentic antiques and Africana. It has two modern bathrooms and a lounge/dining room with fireplace, Lounge area with DSTV and full kitchen with BBQ facilities. Vehicular security is provided by a lock-up garage.
