Description

Kameelboomkoelte Chalets situated in the heart of the famous ‘Kalahari Red Dune Route’ of the Southern Kalahari is the result of a dream created by Erick and Nina Meyer. Construction of their dream project turning it into reality began in January 2017.

In the tiny, friendly town of Askham which is 180km North of Upington and 75km South of the Twee Rivieren Main gate of Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park which is a perfect stay over for adventurous travelers, with many interesting attractions nearby, is where it all began.
Nina grew up in Askham and is a true child of the Kalahari. After spending many years in Pretoria, she has returned to her roots, having a deep affinity with the desert and its intriguing uniqueness. Her extensive knowledge of the area, and ability to create a beautiful home to spoil her guests, is the welcoming feeling that shines through.

Erick, being involved in construction for many years, and has for as long as he can remember had a love for carpentry, has been hands on in all aspects of building this project, including the making of all the exclusive wooden furniture.

Facilities

Kameelboomkoelte offers accommodation in seven fully equipped, self-catering open plan, air-conditioned units/chalets (sleep 18 people) with braai (barbeque) facilities. This is the ideal stopover for traveling individuals / couples or family groups on their way to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Namibia and Botswana. Kameelboomkoelte has a wheelchair-friendly Unit (Sleeps only 2) and Diamond T Coffee Shop is within walking distance for meals and curios. All meals can be served onsite with arrangements made.  Room facilities include DStv, braai facilities and shaded parking.
